What a great idea! I just added the list to my blog and it was fun to go through. Also, I think I found some books we need to read!
Very colorful. :) If I am reading this correctly you hven't read Mike Mulligan and the Steam Shovel. I hadn't read it until a few weeks ago and now I love it. There is a new audio recording of the book that is marvelous. We read it several time and listened to the CD in the car. It is a great story.
Did you see all the fuss about Sweet Clara and other slave quilt books? Let me know, I can point you in the direction of the articles etc. Anything illustrated by James Ransome captures my attention.
And as a formal school teacher, you would like Thank You Mr. Falker by Patricia Polacco.
Thanks for playing and adding to the list.
Nina,
No we have not read Mike Mulligan. We have most of the Five in a Row vol 1 books and just shelved them after doing the first lesson of Apple Pie... which flopped. I plan on getting it many of the FIAR books out this school year.
